August 2008—St.  Petersburg, Russia   A GOOD WORD FROM CAMP from Leif & Zhanya Camp

So we were delayed 10 days in our return to Russia in order to finish some work on applying for US citizen ship for Zhanya.  We did not get back until the 15th and have been running to catch up--organizing the kids for school, getting the house back in order after a two month absence, getting over jet-lag and getting back to work and ministry.  I was planning to write a full prayer letter for August, but I am not going to make it--I preach tomorrow at St. Michaels and preparing my sermon takes precedence.  A week after my return I had a youth seminar to help lead, we are finishing up helping organize the Chaplaincy seminar that will take place Sept. 22-27 at the Ingrian Lutheran Theological Institute in Koltushe (Pastor Steven Lee, Pastor Anton Lagoutine and others will be presenting).  And...

We really were encouraged and strengthened by our time in the US--the congregations we visited, the Christian brothers and sisters we met, those that took us into their hearts and homes.  Words cannot express how blessed we realized we truly are to be part of God's extended family that encompasses our World.

Things to pray about: Zhanya is enrolled in College here hoping to finish an advanced degree, besides this she is back working at her various jobs.  She has also been asked to help out at International Christian Academy--but in exactly what way is yet to be determined.  Karl begins school at ICA and Nastya will finish this year at the Russian Gymnasium to finish elementary school.  The Children will be on different schedules for this year, so that coordination of drop-offs and pick ups an issue.  We begin English Worship again September 14th--and are praying people will come.  Several regular attendees are gone--some on furlough others because of visa issues and family situations.  We are also beginning to plan for Pastor Don Richman from Lutherans for Life who is coming early October--so our days are full and we need prayers for guidance and help.

In Christ,

Leif & Zhanya Camp
