Of all the gifts for which we thank God, above all is the gift of Himself to us, His erring but redeemed children!  “Whom have I in Heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides you” (Psalm 73:25).

Our purpose is to reach out to families and individuals of all backgrounds and bring them into healing and transforming relationships with the Lord Jesus and with others in His Church through the sharing of God’s Word and Sacraments.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER.  God loves both the rich and the poor.  However, it is difficult for the rich to love the Lord because they can so easily become absorbed in the things that they possess.  Jesus warned that wealth can be highly dangerous.  He told how difficult it was for the rich to be saved when He said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!  Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God!” (Luke 18:24-25).  God doesn’t condemn wealth.  The warning is about the attitude that an abundance of money and possessions can cause.  Paul wrote, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.  Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” (1 Timothy 6:10).

LIGHT COVERS in the cafeteria will be replaced, hopefully this coming week.  We are requesting your help in keeping them clear and clean.  Please do not use any tape on these covers.  The heat from the light quickly dries the tape making it very difficult or impossible to remove all the residue.

MPj04118140000[1]FUN FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR!

As the dreaded school year approaches, we’d like to offer some fun, games, and Jesus celebrations to the lives of our youth!  So, for those of you in Junior or Senior high, we will continue our Bible studies on Thursday nights from 7-9pm here at church.  We do fun activities, have thought-provoking discussions, and if I’m not too crabby, play ultimate Frisbee afterwards!  So, junior high and high school students, feel free to join us at any time!  For those students entering 4th, 5th, and 6th grade, starting September 4th, we will have a blast on Tuesday nights from 5:30-7:00 PM here at church.  Some of our high school students who think you guys are grand will be there to play games and have fun with you and hang out with Jesus with you, and it will be great.  So, there’s the heads up, and see you soon!

MMj01739980000[1]ALL CHOIR MEMBERS:  Adult Choir rehearsals will resume on Thursday, September 6th. Return & new members are welcome.  Questions?  Please talk to Jeff Kiel after the Sunday worship service.
