Of all the gifts for which we thank God, above all is the gift of Himself to us, His erring but redeemed children!  Whom have I in Heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides you” (Psalm 73:25).

Our purpose is to reach out to families and individuals of all backgrounds and bring them into healing and transforming relationships with the Lord Jesus and with others in His Church through the sharing of God’s Word and Sacraments.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

INVITATION!  You are cordially invited to participate in the SECOND PAINTING PARTY that will take place Next Saturday, September 8th, from 9 AM till ??  Come, have a good time, enjoy fellowship.  Lunch will be provided.  If you have a favorite brush/roller, etc. please feel free to bring it along!

STEWARDSHIP CORNER.  No matter how hard we try, we will never completely overcome our selfishness and greed.  Even though Scripture tells us that worldly treasures can’t provide us with any real security, we don’t always distinguish between providing responsibly for our future needs and selfish hoarding.  Jesus said, “Watch out!  Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions” (Luke 12:15).  What we acquire in this life will at some time be lost; however, what we do for Christ will last forever.  Jesus also said, “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?” (Luke 9:25).

ST. PAUL SCHOOL NEWS this week

Click here for school newsletter page

AFTER MILLIONS OF YEARS…an aluminum can slowly oozed forth from the earth.  A few more million years passed and the sky issued forth red rain and covered the can.  Miraculously, it spelled out the letters “Coke” on the can.  Time continued to pass and the can grew a finger-friendly pop top.  Do you believe this story?.…the “kids” didn’t.  They knew that both the Coke can and its contents were made by man and the contents were to serve the purpose of quenching a person’s thirst.  The same can be said of all of creation, especially you and I.  We weren’t formed over millions of years…God created us.  He made us special…He gave us a purpose.  Our purpose is to share and witness His love…a love so deep and so rich that He sent His Son to die for our sins.  This was the message Pastor Johnson shared with the children in chapel last week.  This week’s speaker will be Mr. John Lewis from Barnyard Buddies.  As in the past, please accept this warm invitation to worship with the children of your school.  Chapel is held each Wednesday morning in the church beginning at 8:45.

ENROLLMENT IS UP…from last year.  We thank the Lord for giving St. Paul the opportunity share the blessings of eternal life earned by Christ through his death and resurrection with children and families from our neighborhood.  One key factor for this increase is the faithful and dedicated faculty.  Any school is only as good as its teachers and the learning and the message they bring to the classroom.
