Of all the gifts for which we thank God, above all is the gift of Himself to us, His erring but redeemed children!  Whom have I in Heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides you” (Psalm 73:25).

Our purpose is to reach out to families and individuals of all backgrounds and bring them into healing and transforming relationships with the Lord Jesus and with others in His Church through the sharing of God’s Word and Sacraments.

FROM PASTOR JOHNSON.  “If you are in the hospital or are in need of pastoral care, please notify Maria in the church office.  If it is an emergency, please call my mobile phone (in printed copy of chimes).  Please don’t hesitate to call me at any hour if it is important; I keep the phone with me at all times.  If the matter is important enough to think about calling a pastor, by all means call me.  Please do not think you will disturb me or I will think the matter unimportant.  Thanks!”

ANNOUNCEMENTS

ARE YOU A “CRAFTER”?  would you be interested in helping make Chrismons for use on our St. Paul Christmas tree?  (Chrismons are Christian symbol ornaments made primarily with pearls and gold beads.)  Contact Laura L. if you would like to help in this project.  Also, if you would like to help defray the cost of materials, please make your contribution via the church office.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER.  Only Jesus, the Savior, on Whose suffering, death, and resurrection we focus during this time of Lent, can meet all our needs.  His love for us and the salvation He has earned for us draw us away from the pull of the world, away from our own selfish desires, away from that which leads to sin and death.  His love draws us to Himself, to service to others, to using our gifts as we have been blessed in the building up of the Church. “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”  (Ephesians 2:10).

MEXICAN FOLKLORIC DANCE COMPANY.  Next Saturday, February 16 at 7:00 PM, enjoy the colors, culture and music depicting several regions in Mexico as you watch La Compañía de Danza Folklórica  Mexicana de Chicago (Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago).  Chicago’s oldest Mexican dance ensemble is a group of 55 dancers and a band that reflects the rich heritage of Mexico’s traditional dance and music. Triton College Performing Arts Center in the Robert M. Collins Center at 2000 Fifth Ave., River Grove. For more information, call 708-456-0300, ext. 3757.  Prices: $15 general admission and $13 for students, Triton staff and senior citizens; children $10.  Come and enjoy this dazzling performance.
