Of all the gifts for which we thank God, above all is the gift of Himself to us, His erring but redeemed children!  Whom have I in Heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides you” (Psalm 73:25).

Our purpose is to reach out to families and individuals of all backgrounds and bring them into healing and transforming relationships with the Lord Jesus and with others in His Church through the sharing of God’s Word and Sacraments.

A LENTEN DINNER has been planned for February 20th.  We are hoping to offer meals for the remaining Wednesdays, before the 7:00 PM worship service, but we need volunteers, otherwise we will not be able to serve any.  If you would like to provide a Lenten dinner, please contact John or Joan F., or let them know on Sunday, at the coffee hour. March 12th is the last Midweek Lenten Service before Palm Sunday.

“ATTENTION Chrismon MAKERS: Unfortunately a family emergency has called me out of town.  I will not be here to host the scheduled next meeting for working together, so instead of meeting March 3 let’s plan to meet again on March 10.  My sincere apologies.  Laura”

THE DRAMA MINISTRY TEAM presented Fast Food by Troy Schmidt during the evening Ash Wednesday Service.  Acting were Sierra C., Lynette W. and Dan G. who signed on 20 minutes before service started when the original actor was delayed by the snow.  Thanks Dan!  During the evening Lenten service on February 13, Freight Train Peace by Robyn Berdino was presented by Lynette W.  We don't have dramas set for every Wednesday evening this Lent but more are in the works.  If you are interested in participating please see Lynette Welter.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

STEWARDSHIP CORNER.   Who among us likes sacrifice?  Do we not seek to please ourselves, to spare ourselves, to shield ourselves and those we love from pain or disappointment or failure?  Unlike us, “Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things    .  . . Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.”  Peter loved his Lord; He didn’t want Him to suffer.  Our answer to the temptation to self-centeredness should echo Jesus’ answer to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan . .You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men” (Matthew 16:21-23).

EASTER LILIES  will be available for purchase at $13.00 each plant.  Please place your order along with your cash or check into an envelope.  Mark Easter Lilies and your name outside the envelope and put it into the offering plate or bring or mail it to the church office.  Make checks payable to St. Paul Lutheran Church.  Orders must be placed by Monday, March 17th.   If you wish to memorialize a loved one please specify in the space below.
