Of all the gifts for which we thank God, above all is the gift of Himself to us, His erring but redeemed children!  Whom have I in Heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides you” (Psalm 73:25).

Our purpose is to reach out to families and individuals of all backgrounds and bring them into healing and transforming relationships with the Lord Jesus and with others in His Church through the sharing of God’s Word and Sacraments.

FROM THE PARISH NURSE OFFICE.  Marlene Groll will be attending the annual Parish Nurse Conference at Concordia University, Wisconsin, next week.  She will be back in her office on Tuesday, June 3rd.

REMEMBER TO JOIN US  this morning, at Coffee Hour, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans”  wishes to thank the many volunteers at St. Paul and also “kick off” the start of the summer season by serving grilled hot dogs in the lunchroom immediately following the 9:00 AM service.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER.  As God’s stewards, our first assignment was given to us in Genesis 1:28: “God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.  Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’ ”   God delegated us as His representatives to rule the earth in His place.  We have been given dominion over God’s creation.  Because God has retained His ownership of all things, we are stewards who are responsible and accountable to God.  God is the owner; we are the stewards or managers.

SUNDAY SCHOOL.   As it was for Peter, so it is for us is the message of today’s Sunday School lesson (Acts 12). The Word of God is never proclaimed in vain. Though we suffer because of the sin of others, God’s will is done. Talk with your children about modern day persecution of the church of God and how, even in the midst of persecution, God sustains and increases His Church. How does God’s Word break through the chains of our sin and the suffering it causes?
