Emily is trying out Block cliimbing, one of many the fun activities at Frizon. While harnassed securely to a cherry-picker she is trying to stack as many milk crates on top of each other until the tower she has created collapses and she swings off.

Fall Preview

First of all, we start language school Monday, September 3rd. Hurray!  We have been practicing on our own and with Swedish friends, but are thrilled to learn at a faster pace in class.  Secondly, we have been given the "go ahead" to pioneer new Young Life ministry in Vallentuna, SwedenVallentuna has two högstadiet, or junior high school, and one gymnasium, or high school.  Pray for wisdom in connecting with adults in the community who can help establish ministry in Vallentuna that will outlast our presence in Sweden. Learn more about Vallentuna by clicking here.

Lastly, we will continue to help Ryan and the ministry team in Täby by discipling students who already have begun a relationship with Jesus Christ.

FRIZON

When you look at the church in Sweden as a statistic, where less than 4% of Swedes attend Church services, it is very disheartening. However, at Frizon, a Christian Music Festival, Keegan and I had the opportunity to see God at work in thousands of Swedish teens' lives. Keegan spent the week promoting Young Life Sweden at a booth, inviting young people to consider becoming leaders. I camped with 3 girls and got to know them better as we stayed up for late night concerts.  Frizon offered daily large worship services, Bible studies, a soccer tournament, a sand volleyball tournament, a tea room, climbing wall and much more. It was a haven for Christian teens who are so often persecuted by peers and teachers at school.

Of the girls I camped with, I got to know Emily the best. She is an incredible young lady with a tough past.  She opened up to me and we talked about her relationship with God. Though she is uncertain of what she believes now, I pray that the trust we developed throughout the week will be a basis to take it further in the future. Since Frizon, Emily has come to several of our events including a slumber party. Pray that as I visit her at her boarding school this Fall that we will continue the friendship we have begun and go deeper into matters of faith. Exploring the Area

Stockholm is such a beautiful city and Keegan and I are enjoying exploring it in our spare time and asking locals to share some of their insights.  We especially enjoyed touring the harbor crammed with sail boats for the Large Ships' Race held only every 7 years.  It was an incredible sight, worth the hours of walking, that we won't soon forget.

Thank you for making kids a priority!

This is not a ministry done by Keegan and Rebecca alone, but a ministry done by hundreds of donors who help us to reach kids who haven't heard the Gospel. For unexpected reasons not everyone has been able to give according to their commitment.  Please consider how you can help us to raise the $1000 each month we still need to do ministry for the next 3 years. Maybe you know someone that we could connect with or maybe you would like to make a first time pledge or resume a commitment previously made. We have seen the direct impact your prayers and support have made.  We hope you realize how God is using you in the lives of kids like Emily, Sofie, Daniel, Erik and new Swedish leaders like Tobias.

Please Pray For:

-Emily to be open to friendship with Becka and for chances to share faith with her in relevant ways.

-For Tobias, a Swedish leader whom Keegan is mentoring, as he shares Christ with co-workers and teens in Täby.

-In Vallentuna for 2-3 adults with a strong desire to reach hurting teens who can help establish YL locally. For wisdom as we equip and train future leaders to share Christ. For open doors with administrators at the 3 schools in Vallentuna. For local churches to partner with us in sharing the power of the Gospel.

Please let us know how we can pray for and support you.  E-mail requests to: Rebecca(atsymbol)younglife.se *
