June 11 was Keegan and Becka's 2 year anniversary of living and doing ministry in Sweden. Praise God for the work He has accomplished! We want to thank you for your continued support. Since we have been here some of the highlights are:

  • Watching the Stödgrupp/ Committee take ownership. Just yesterday at our end of the year meeting they planned a garage sale in August that they will run to raise money for Young Life Vallentuna.  They also planned a dessert evening they will host in September to introduce Young Life to 40-50 new adults in Vallentuna and welcome them to be a part of this ministry.
  • Seeing kids open up and consider Christ.  Many kids, have become like little brothers and sisters to us and we pray for the day they will become part of our eternal family.
  • Earning the trust of a local Pastor who has seen our desire to help kids assimilate into the Body of Christ.
  • Training and Equipping Rebecka as a leader and having the faith to send her to be an intern with Young Life in Madison, WI where she can learn even more and someday make an even bigger impact on the lives of teenagers in Sweden.
  • Participating in 3 incredible camping experiences that have helped us to communicate Christ's love to teenagers.

Thank you for praying for Summer Camp 2009! It was an incredible week. Thanks to Becka's parents, Larry and Ardis, coming to babysit Sofia, both Keegan and Becka were able to be cabin leaders and go deep with kids and leaders during an intense week.  Keegan's guys need your prayers!!!  His five guys wrestled with the talks each day, wondering if it could be true that there is a God and that He loves them.  Through their discussions, 4 out of 5 of the guys said that they would like to start doing a discovery Bible study with Keegan and Daniel, a leader Keegan is training.  Evangelism in Sweden is a slow process, but we are praying that these boys who Keegan has hung out with for the past year will one day come home! Pray as Keegan and Daniel continue to be present in their lives, ask questions, and guide them in meeting Jesus.

Filip, Jonas, Adreas, Nicko, Adde, Keegan and Daniel show off their Sudoku shirts at an outdoor festival at camp.

Grandpa and Sofia entertaining each other. Who is babysitting who?

On the last day of camp, the teens have a choice to attend a New Believers's Walk for those who have felt called to take a new step with Christ, a Question and Answers time or a Grow with God time for those who already are in relationship with Christ.  Daniel, pictured above, and Natalia went on the New Believer's Walk.  Pray for wisdom for us as we challenge these teens as they begin this new journey with Christ.

Sara, above, is a school friend of on one of the girl's who came to camp.  At camp, I had the privilege of getting to know her better.  As we sat and talked in a one-on-one, I learned that Sara had never heard the Gospel before.  This week was a brand new experience for her, she wrote in her evaluation, "It was interesting to listen to Kent (the speaker) and get new insights, especially since I am not a Christian, just yet." Pray that I will find ways to get to know her better now that camp is over and that her "just yet" will change.
